“Remember who you represent.” These are the last words us kids would often hear as we climbed off the school bus for a field trip. I am sure somebody has said this to you growing up as well. We understand that this was not some memory exercise or riddle; instead, they were hoping we would be good and act right. They were saying that since we are one of their students, our actions reflect on them and the school. It wouldn’t take many kids wreaking havoc and destruction before the people working this field trip thought poorly of the school and chaperones, right? Whether it is fair or not, that is just how things work. You are a representation of what, or should I say, who you belong to. As I went to a Christian school, I am sure they were also alluding to the fact that we also represent Christ.
As Christians, we do represent Christ whether we want to or not. If we belong to God, we are to reflect him to the world. This is our job. You can positively or negatively impact the kingdom with your attitude, words, decisions, and actions. Remember who you represent.
May your life profess the name you confess.
